Class Offerings
Whimsical Ways classes allow children to freely explore and express themselves through unique experiences with process art and sensory play, while allowing us adults to find beauty in the chaos of it all. All of our classes are for child AND caregiver. Drop off options may be added in the future and will be noted next to class description. Each week the class will have a new theme that activities are based on.
Whimsy Doodles
Best suited for ages 4-6 years old. This class will involve a mix of sensory and process art activities based on the theme that day. This class can be drop off or with a caregiver.
STATION DESCRIPTIONS
Cardboard Creations ~ Each week there will be a large art project made out of cardboard that our Magic Makers will explore designing with a variety of different materials
Major Masterpiece ~ These are big works of group art presented in unusual ways to get our Magic Makers thinking outside the box. Whether is it painting with flowers, aluminum foil, feet, balloons or other surprise materials - they are sure to create a Major Masterpiece!
Clean Fun ~ Magic Makers love the relaxing Clean Fun station where they have the opportunity to handle, scoop, pour and explore with dry sensory materials. Think beans, water beads, dried coffee grinds, rice, beans, salt, tea leaves and more!
Messy Magic ~ This is where the deep sensory play happens! Magic Makers will be offered different ways to engage in heavy sensory play according to their comfort level. Some will paint their whole body with mud, shaving cream or ooblek and others will prefer to play with the toys and stirring materials instead. There is no wrong way to play here!
Process Over Product ~ This station holds endless wonders for Magic Makers. Using unique objects to create art in unexpected ways allows them to express their creativity in an exciting fashion. Remember it’s the process of creating their own original work of art and not the picture perfect product that matters here!
No Brush No Problem ~ Each week a new layer will be added to a canvas by painting with anything but a paint brush! At the end of the session the canvas goes home and your Magic Makers will marvel at the work they’ve created and grow their artistic self confidence.
Tinker Time ~ Magic Makers will tinker away at this loose parts station creating endless opportunities for their artistic wonder to run free.
Beautiful Mess Sensory Art Play
Best suited for ages 1.5-4 years old. This class will involve a mix of sensory and process art activities based on the theme that day. All of our classes are for child AND caregiver. Most sensory activities are taste safe unless pointed out before class starts.
