What to Expect?

When you come to a Whimsical Ways class you’ll quickly see why this is not your ordinary beans class! Children will have a blast exploring fun textures, mixing vibrant colors, and using everyday objects in brand new ways. Process art and sensory play also have the added benefits of using both gross and fine motor skills too!

As a parent/caregiver, we know how important it is for children to have fun and interactive learning opportunities and coming to a class provides you with just that – plus it’s a great way for you to meet other families in the area and do something unique with your little one. Join us to watch your child’s imagination and creativity come to life.

What is Process Art?

Being able to blend, mix, smoosh, tear, smear and lead the way in process art, kids will learn to trust themselves and their own ideas. They are able to take complete ownership over their artwork without the stress of having to replicate an example. Following their own intuition, they can be proud of their unique creation, in turn growing their self-confidence.

What is Sensory Play?

Sensory play is like a playground for the senses, offering endless possibilities for exploration and discovery. Whether digging into chia slime, swirling water beads, squishing toes into paint for a dance party, stirring fizzing magic mud or oozing alien ooblek through their fingertips, our sensory play options are sure to delight every child’s senses.

What to Expect?

Whimsical Ways classes offer art and sensory opportunities in a way that your children haven’t had the chance to encounter yet. They will be offered options to work on individual projects as well as group projects. Every class offers different entry points for play to meet every child’s sensory seeking or sensory aversion needs. No one is forced to touch or participate in anything they do not feel comfortable doing in that moment. We are child led and trust the child's natural instincts and abilities to explore and learn through play to their level of comfort while we are providing a safe and supportive environment for them to do so.

We highly recommend wearing clothes you don’t care about to avoid anything special being ruined by balloon paint drips, rubber band flicking paint splatter, outer space liquid watercolor droplets or little fingers rubbing colored glue on themselves. Adults should also dress in the same way so you can be fun-loving with your little one worry free! Smocks will also be offered to anyone who wants one, as will handwashing stations. Plan ahead and expect for mess!

Bring on the creativity, the mess, the play and sign up for a class today!
